Oya no Taro Mitsukuni

This second print is Tsukioka Yoshitoshi’s Ôya no Tarô Mitsukuni, from his series “One Hundred Ghost Stories from China and Japan,” based on the very same story as the last print. Instead of showing the climactic battle between Mitsukuni and Princess Takiyasha, this print shows Mitsukuni encountering one of Takiyasha’s tamer apparitions. Mitsukuni is completely unfazed by the lively group of skeletons fighting behind him.
